Breast Cancer Detecting Dog better than mammography test.
Biopsy confirms the breast cancer.
From "Secret Life of Dogs" by BBC. A
Dog smells a cancer that could not be detected without a biopsy. As
soon as the operation was done the dog became energetic and happy.
Note : Most dogs can be trained to detect the volatile chemicals let off by cancerous growths.
Types of Cancer Detectable :
Apparently dogs can detect Breast, Lung, Bladder, Prostate, Ovarian from Breath, Urine or Tissue samples.

Though amount in EPS is small, the accumulated amount earns no interest i.e. depreciates due to inflation!!! Better to withdraw before 10 years of service.
Abhishek Bade, Assistant Manager-HR, IIFL, explains, “To withdraw from EPS, an employee needs to contribute at least for six months. He has to fill Form No. 10 C (E.P.S) to claim withdrawal benefit. However, if the employee completes 10 years of the service, the withdrawal option ends. Thus, after 10 years of completion of the service, the employee cannot withdraw from his EPS.”
Need to CLAIM deduction while filing Tax Return : The employer contribution is exempt from tax, while an employee’s contribution is taxable but eligible for deduction under Section 80C of Income tax Act. The money which you initially invest in EPF, the interest you earn and, finally the money you withdraw after a specified period (5 years), are all exempt from income tax.

China's String of Pearls Encirclement of Entire SE-Asia:
(Image courtsey of the original website)
This is China's strategy for economic and military control of entire SE-Asia region.
Why is China ahead of India and how to progress:
China
was/is communist i.e. pro-labour, anti-rich. Today it has realised that
jobs for labour will only come from rich industrialists. However
they've just allowed industrialists to make money and provide jobs.
Everything else - esp. state control by communist party and army -
remains as strong as ever. Orders come from above and are implemented at
once unlike in democractic India. China
started this change around 13 years ago while India was still shackled
with red-tape and anti-industry laws and policies with lots of subsidies
to get votes. They took the route of becoming low-cost 'assemblers' of
components made by other Asian countries. This yields labour-intensive
low skill jobs. This is also an extremely polluting and dangerous
business which lays waste to the land, rivers and forests. Investments
have come in from Chinese diaspora based on family and village
connections. US and Europe found it difficult to bring down labour-costs
and pollution controls. So they outsourced the dirty work to
sweat-shops in China and SE-Asia. If
you look back at Socialist India of Nehru's dreams and see the
Raj-Kapoor movies it also sang the tune of 'Gareebi Hatao' and was
anti-industrialist with it's License Raj syndrome. It took us a drain on
balance of payments and Gold hypothecation to loosen this mind-set
during Narasimha Rao rule. Latest UPA 10 years rule has seen
unprecedented scams and imports without limit. This lead us back to
current 'kangaali' i.e. empty pockets. India must work on its strengths. Manufacturing
can give quick jobs but at the cost of pollution and laying waste to
the environment. We cannot import food/water for such a huge population
if this happens. So
we should seek out better quality and less polluting work by training
our working population better than China. We can plan this transition
from the outset so as to quickly transition from crude manufacturing.
Chini-FDI : "Naam Badein Aur Darashan Chote!!"
Tall stories about $100 Billion Chinese FDI fizzles out into a whimper of $20 Billion (over 5 years no less). This is however quite an "achievement" given the $400 million that was their contribution till now. Snark, snark!!
The Curious case of alleged $100 Billion : http://www.business-standard.com/article/economy-policy/the-curious-case-of-100-bn-114091900033_1.html
Flop-show : http://www.firstpost.com/world/the-big-india-china-flop-xi-jinping-promises-30-4-bn-investment-not-100-bn-1719535.html (note it wasn't even 30.4 Bn but 20 Bn)
a) "Chinese people and Indian people CANNOT do business together. Indian people cannot live without a bargain and Chinese people cannot give you a bargain.
Their objective is to take every penny from you. And our objective is to keep every penny"
b) "You seem like a nice guy, I'll give you BEST PRICE $34.50!!!. That's like 50 cents...
Fifty cents is a looot of money..."
c) "You save 50 cents here, then you go somewhere else and save another 50 cents. Then you have ONE DOLLAR!! Then you go take the ONE DOLLAR and go to "1 Dollar" store and buy something else!!!!"
d) "Heey!! Be a MAN... Do the RIGHT THING!!"
Conclusion :
Chinese are not interested in making an enemy stronger. The border incursions in Ladakh clearly underline this. Any reader of Sun-Tzu's "Art of War" will understand the strategic and tactical ideas racing through the PLA think-tanks. How to strike an enemy just when it's about to take off!! Instead you can be sure they'll be pumping in money to all the "Breaking India" forces like commies and maoists and arming them to the teeth.
Given Xiaomi redmi1s online sale of $5 Billion via flipkart it may be far easier to start Indian Cell-phone companies here than money from Chini-bhais.
We'll KEEP far more money inside the country than the measly Best Price of Chini-Bhai's.
Dipromacy vs. Miritary:
+ Eisenhower tells the story of the over-aggressive goose giving way to a young Ike on getting a rap on the tail-feathers : http://www.perdidomagazine.com/articles/i-want-be-ike
"Young
Dwight’s family, who lived in Abilene, TX, went to Topeka, KS, to visit
relatives. While the adults were socializing, Dwight set out to explore
the farm. He found his proposed exploration of the barn blocked by a
large, aggressive goose. Every time he tried to enter, the goose charged
menacingly at him, flapping its wings and threatening to peck him. The
boy kept trying to bypass the goose, but to no avail. He
had tears in his eyes when his uncle, Luther Stover, came to his rescue
by offering him an old broom. Dwight then managed to whack the
attacking goose on the tail. It was so surprised and intimidated that it
quickly retreated to a corner, giving the boy access to the barn. Many
years later, Eisenhower stated that the experience taught him “never to
negotiate with an adversary except from a position of strength.” It was a
lesson that would last a lifetime"

+ Teddy Roosevelt said
"Speak softly and carry a big stick".
But in India this can mean more than one thing I guess.
+ Gandhiji carried a big stick on his marches, but never used it to hurt others using diplomacy instead.
+ Nehru used diplomacy all the time and showed us the effect of using softness without having a strong fist under the gloves.
+ Patel used diplomacy but brought in the stick too when it came to reigning in errant would-be-breakaway-kinglets.
Chini's seem to be all Sun-Tzu style magicians. Distracting the audiences' eyes with one hand while other is busy cutting the throat. Deception, smoke-and-mirrors seem to be the forte, combined with a leady-swold.
They also nultule megaro dleams about "Led Almy" unfulring theil "Led Frag" ovel SEAsia or falthel. ;-)
But one who lives in a palace of mirrors better learn from Lee-Bhai.
As as our dear Raj Kumar would say : "Jinke ghar sheeshe ke hoan, woh pathharoan se bachke raha karte hain!!"
We Indians can contribute to the safety of our country too!! HOW?!! one may wonder. Well, just think back to the time we ordered our phone/laptop on an Online store...
Apparently as per this article on first post :
We're busy financing Chini's economy and its forces while paying EMIs!!
1) Xiaomi phone ($5 Billion) sold exclusively online in 4.5 seconds.
Routed via singapore to online store to avoid paying taxes to Indian govt.
2) In the last 3 years alone:
Engineering goods : $30 Billion ($10 billion a year)
Electronic goods : $43 Billion ($14 billion a year)
Computers : $6 Billion ($2 Billion a year)
You can easily total this amount to work out what it would mean to the Indian industry.
$26 Billion A YEAR is INR 15,88,73,00,00,000
In comparison Japan has made a committment of $35 Billion over a period of 5 Years!!
===============
As the article notes :
===============
A) "The biggest fallacy on imports and import gateways is that it is free trade, and the US educated economists always want to have more of it. This is a philosophy perpetuated by American think tanks. The reality is that populous countries like India need to adopt trade strategies that build their job engines."
B) "As against the general perception that imports are of cheap consumer items, the figures show that the largest imports from China are that of engineering goods, electronics and electrical equipment."
So apparently the UPA govt. with its already blackened face has been busy bleeding our economy dry while making our friendly neighbours rich!!
How should India respond to Pak and China encirclemint PoK and Aksai Chin. Give them up as lost causes OR hold on and try and win them back? Right now the key thing is to develop our Economic strength while ensuring that our borders don't get eroded further. Currently we've got isolated internationally without much of a presence in diplomatic, military, economic fronts. Once we grow more powerful both economically and militarily we can negotiate far better than right now. Then we'll be in a far better position to make enemies think twice before taking us on.
"Good Fences make Good Neighbours":
To put it simply "Deer doesn't hurt anyone, but that doesn't mean it has no enemies." Both Tiger and Hunter will come after it!!
Almost
all the invasions of India have been through these Northern "useless,
barren" areas. Through passes in the mountains. If we don't learn from
History it'll only repeat itself.
Pak
nukes and missiles were transported over this land route from China!!
How's that for "useless, barren" location? Pak govt. has "leased a few
kilometers of land to China. No sovereign govt. would do that unless it
had nothing to lose in leasing out "stolen rocky land". Chinese have
built roads to connect to Pak.
Internally
Seperatists, Terrorists Maoists/Naxalites are funded and supplied via
Nepal and porous borders. Having such problems will definitely not
attract investments unless these loop-holes are plugged for a safe haven
for development.
Even
the erstwhile Empires used to fight and are still fighting over
Afghanistan (known as "The Great Game") as this would allow access and
control of South-Asia.
While the suggestion is that "India move on"... it's neighbours will be "moving in" even further!! :-) Some of the comments show how little they've understood strategic military positions.
WHY do you think they are interested in these "barren, useless places", which they are doing everything to hold on to?!! a) Holding a position at a height gives you control and view of all the land below. b) Also controlling narrow passes allows one to cut-off supplies to enemy and supply one's own troops.
Example : 1)
In WW-2 thousands of lives were lost regularly to get hold of small
atolls in Pacific and islands like Cyprus and strategic points
overlooking shipping supply lines like Gibraltar. In fact these points
were SO valuable that both sides gave it their all even if they could
hold on for a few days alone!! Same thing applies to other strategic
locations.
2)
If you've seen the movie 300 (or better yet read about it in detail)
you'll understand that the only reason 300 Spartans could fight off the
"Persian Hordes" was because it was a cramped place favourable to
close in fighting style adapted by Spartans. Having numerical advantage
was counter-productive in such a narrow space. More Persian-forces
died due to trampling by their own forces and falling off the cliff than
by enemy blows!!
Economy and Military not mutually exclusive :
The
argument that we need to redirect money to building the economy from
defence is like saying "Build a bigger Gold Tower by saving money on
security agency!!". A penny-wise and pound-foolish argument indeed.
US must be having the highest inventions and latest technology.
In arm sales alone they must be making billions if not trillions.
To
top it all, they regularly spin-off military technology in civilian
industrial uses and earn money from it. Internet is only one such
technology made by DARPA for distributed, fail-safe, networks which
could survive attacks on critical servers.
US
also uses Economic carrots and sticks approach using loans,
investments, sanctions and embargoes. Same thing with military
technology, only compliant nations get to buy their technology (on their
terms). US interests are BOTH economic and military-based and not
mutually exclusive but complementary.
Sphere of Influence in Nepal
Since
the other people have answered on the economic fronts I'll add a bit on
the security implications of India-Nepal-China border.
Nepal
other than sharing so much with India on cultural, economic fronts is
also part of the board centre of China's regional and military
ambitions.
Indian
Prime-Ministers after Nehru didn't learn their lesson after Chinese
war. Even as recently as 2013 there were Chinese incursions into border
areas by their forces.
To know more about Indo-China and border related issues you can read or view Arun Shourie's superb books/videos on the matter.
Update : As of Aug-2014 a pattern is emerging in outline at least.
Interests of a Nation and relations with other nations are based on Geographical, Maritime, Political, Financial criteria.
It's
not just China which has these interests. There are OTHER dominant
players who need to be addressed also. ANY nation has to look after it's
own interests by using Saam, Daam, Danda, Bheda as defined in
Arthashastra of Kautilya/Chanakya. The question is are WE doing our bit
for our own sake?
The
Nepal 'line of credit' was just one move in a whole game-plan to reduce
and push-back China's "Sphere of Influence" in South-East Asia and the
World.
+
Financial and Development Tie-up with Japan (which is in tension with
China over claims on islands. Also Japan may want to shake-off it's
over-dependence on China for sourcing components)
+
Financial and maritime co-operation with Vietnam (which is also in
tension with oil-fields on islands claimed by both China and Vietnam)
+ BRICs bank without special rights to China, simultaneously wiping out monopoly of World Bank and IMF.
+
INS Vikramaditya makes India have a significant maritime presence in
the Indian Ocean. Coupled with indigenous production of naval and coast
guard this increases sphere of actual control of seas.
Ancient Indian Kings and Chess :
There
are many similarities between Chess and Leading a Nation. In fact
Chaturanga/Chess was invented in India to help Kings learn the art of
making strategic and tactial moves. This would be helpful in war or
peace.
One who controls the centre of the chess board has a huge advantage tactially (Present) and strategically (Future).
Chess Opening Gambits:
1) Control the board center ("Sphere of Influence" in geo-political terms)
2) Bring most of the pieces into play (i.e. Force multiplication in modern tactical terms)
3) Castle the King to reduce chances of easy check-mate (i.e. protect sensitive/weak points)
Chess Middle Game:
1) Reduce strength of opponent by
a) outright capture or
b) exchange of high value pieces with lower value pieces or
c) promote low value pieces to high value ones
Note:
This is part of Middle game for India in Chess. We're still at the
Opening phase now. For example, China has already ousted Indian
influence by gulping Indian industry contracts in Maldives.
A
good player of chess will try to bring AS MANY of his pieces into
play AS SOON as possible. These are the BASICS of Inter-national
relations both Strategic and Economic. Most Coaches will tell you that
you need to concentrate on fundamental principles of any sport first
before trying the high-fi stuff.
Beginners
in chess have the habit of playing with one-or-two pieces until
they're killed off. Then they start using the other pieces.
Experts
use 2 or more pieces in coordination kind of like opening a bank
locker requires 2 keys instead of just one. Giving financial assistance
to a country can lead to a 'foot in the door' position from which
other more useful contracts/cooperation can follow.
For
example : China has leveraged its money-power by helping a bankrupt
Argentia in return for access to raw materials to fuel its
manufacturing industries.
Right now we can see that THIS is what NaMo is trying to initiate.
Future Moves
A
grand-master will trying to foresee the implications of any move 15-20
moves ahead. As future moves unfold we'll be able to see how good Modi
Sarkaar is at this level.
Increase soil fertility by reducing erosion and acting as a wind-break
Increase water retention by increasing shady areas (esp. around lakes and rivers)
Encourages Natural Local species of plants, animals, insects and birds with high biodiversity.
100 year old forest in just 10 years.
10 times faster growth than conventional planting.
Can be used in urban areas or as fruit sources in farms.
30 trees per 100 sft. instead of 1 trees/100 sft.
Tiny Forest in apartments can absorb grey water.
Afforresstt adapts Akira Miyawaki's Japanese methodology to work in tiny spaces.
Afforestt is planning to release their methodology as open-source for anybody to implement and refine.
Crowd-sourcing of resources (water, mulch, saplings), volunteer manpower and land using social media. See Part 2 of Let's Talk interview about Swechha FB Group's "Monsoon Wooding" initiative.
Sick
animals instinctively find and eat herbs in the forests. Humans copied
from them and reduced time and energy to recover from sickness or
prevent it.
Pioneer
species **create** environment for later species, so the only thing
preventing the latter species from growing is a supporting environment.
Fix that and the time gap can be radically reduced!!
For
example in a natural forest, the layer of mulch would come from a
pre-existing plant life. It's like playing a video backwards to uncover
what succeeding species get from preceding ones.
A) Natural process :A linear serial process satisfies preconditionsslowly. A=>B=>C=>D=>E=>FOREST
B) Afforestt process :A parallel process satisfies preconditionssimultaneously A=>F B=>O C=>R D=>E E=>S F=>T
I
remember in our house we didn't have many birds but lots of trees until
we planted some thick flowering bushes in the patches between Subabul
trees. So many birds showed up to take advantage of the cover!! It was
really heartening.
So maybe the main reason why one method is slower is because of less diversity AND less interactions than required to support varied species' differing needs for food, shelter, security etc. Liked
this afforresttation method as the creation of micro-climate in the
thick undergrowth makes it self-sustaining. The usage of local
vegetation is also really very good.
Both
methods allow for natural selection though as individual trees which
die out are not replaced. Possibly that place is taken over by seeds
left by birds which use the underlying brush for making nests etc.
Seems
like a very good idea as you can achieve similar results over long term
AND short term!! The usage of small strips of land makes it even more
valuable.
